«We fell in love on the second sight. Why? Because the first time we met in Heidelberg, we just exchanged names. We both had partners at the time so we didn’t see each other as a romantic interest. Until few years later as faith had it we would meet again, in Heidelberg years after I moved away. At the time I was freshly out of a relationship, not looking for love. He was just adjusting to being single, not looking for love. Then we met each other and we just clicked immediately. I was not only love, it was the connecting we had as people that was just too strong to ignore. And even though we were both not looking for love, love found us. Eventually we both moved away from Germany but Heidelberg still takes a special place in our hearts for many different reasons but mostly because it gave us each other at the time we were ready to be together. Therefore our engagement in the gardens of Heidelberg’s castle, overlooking the city that evokes so much love in us was the perfect full circle moment in our relationship. Deciding to become family at the place where we decided to become a couple was truly unforgettable. In June, the gardens are in full bloom, birds are singing, life is starting to thrive again in the forest and everywhere around it. We sat down on a bench surrounded by beautiful roses and we enjoyed watching the sunset. One of a sudden Marco pulled out a piece of paper and got very nervous. It was a poem, a beautiful poem, which ended with THE question.»

Our wedding was a destination wedding for everyone attending. We had guests joining us on our special day from almost each continent on Earth. So when the time came and we saw all these people joined and happy to celebrate our love I knew that this moment is truly a once in a lifetime moment.

«I had an unusual list of wants for my wedding dress: I didn’t like big dresses, I didn’t like chiffon, I didn’t want to be a princess. What I wanted and ultimately was lucky enough to find was a slip silk dress that embraced my body and made me feel beautiful but also stayed close to who I am in real life. I like natural materials that flow and create elegant silhouette, this is something in which silk is unbeatable. I wanted to have my wedding dress on throughout the whole day. I didn’t like the idea of multiple dresses on the wedding day because I believed that finding the right dress will mean that I would feel comfortable and beautiful in it and would want to spend my whole day wearing it and feeling that way. That would make it one of the most special garments in my life. I was right.»
