The fairytale wedding of Rafaella and Iakovos at the Grand Resort Hotel felt like it had leapt straight from the most romantic pages of a storybook, with every detail radiating magic and charm. Guided by Harris Potsou and adorned with breathtaking décor featuring lush floral arrangements in soft pink, purple, blue, yellow and nude tones – roses, hydrangeas, lilacs, eucalyptus and rich greenery – both the church and the reception venue were transformed into a dreamy garden. «We chose a romantic, fairytale-inspired decoration, just as we had imagined it. We wanted every guest to feel as though they were stepping into a world filled with light, flowers and colors that warm the soul…» the bride shared with us. She stole the show in her princess-style strapless gown by Complice-Stalo Theodorou, with intricate textured details and delicate floral motifs embellished with pearls and sequins, while her bridal bouquet of pink peonies added the perfect finishing touch to her enchanting look. Every moment of this wedding is brimming with emotion and beauty, and you won’t want to miss a single second of this magical love story!

«We first met one summer, at my cousin’s birthday party. I was 19 and getting ready to go back to England to continue my studies, while Iakovos was 27. My cousin insisted that we should meet, she kept saying we were such a good match. But I thought he was too old for me at the time, and since I was about to leave for school, I believed there was no chance for anything to happen. It felt impossible. My cousin was the reason we crossed paths, but life had other plans for us. Back then the answer was «no», leaving our story unfinished, like a chapter that never got completed. Years went by and our lives took different directions. And yet, six years later, that same cousin, who in the meantime became our maid of honor, hadn’t forgotten about that meeting. In her own unique way, she decided to bring us together again, this time at the right moment. Through that second chance, the initial spark turned into smiles, conversations, companionship and, eventually, love. We realized how perfectly we fit together.»

«The wedding proposal happened inside a beautifully decorated Christmas studio, with the greek song «My lucky star» softly playing in the background. Iakovos knelt down and proposed. It was completely unexpected and deeply moving, I truly didn’t see it coming. The entire setup had been planned together with our best man, under the pretense that they needed a couple for a photoshoot to promote their studio. I had absolutely no idea what was waiting for me that day.»

I used the greek site Love4Weddings when I was planning my wedding. That’s where I discovered Complice by Stalo Theodorou. My gown was a one-of-a-kind creation filled with grace and romance, designed by my beloved Stalo Theodorou, exactly as I had dreamed.

«My Complice by Stalo Theodorou gown was elegant and regal, with a strapless design that softly embraced my silhouette, highlighting my natural beauty. The fabric stood out for its intricate textured details, adorned with floral motifs, pearls, sequins and glitter that added a mesmerizing sparkle to my every move. The veil completed the look, carrying the same motifs as the gown and adding a touch of romance and grace.»

«My bridal bouquet was made of pink peonies, a beautiful choice that matched the rest of the décor perfectly. They were romantic, warm and elegant, creating a fairytale atmosphere. We chose a romantic, fairytale decoration, literally straight out of a storybook, just as we had dreamed of it. We wanted every guest to feel like stepping into a world filled with light, flowers and colors that embrace the soul. The church and reception decoration were among our favorite elements of the day and we were thrilled with how it all came together.»

My advice to any bride currently planning her wedding is to enjoy every single moment as much as she can and live it with joy and freedom! And if something doesn’t go exactly as planned, not to worry, because the magic often hides in the little surprises of the moment.

«We went for lavish floral arrangements in shades of pink, purple, blue, yellow and nude, combining roses, hydrangeas, lilacs, eucalyptus and greenery that added movement, volume and natural elegance. We placed the arrangements on tall stands, adding height and enhancing the dreamy vibe, with colors that blended beautifully with the space. We adored the atmosphere created by the grand crystal chandeliers and the flowers in pink, lilac, blue, green and yellow hues, transforming the reception into a magical garden full of light and sparkle. Candles on the tables completed the scene, adding romance and warmth. A detail we particularly loved was our personalized logo, which brought elegance and consistency to the décor. The palette of pink, blue and green matched perfectly with the luxury of the chandeliers, keeping the day’s style refined, romantic and whimsical, just as we had envisioned.»

«Our favorite moment of the wedding was our entrance, accompanied by a little musical teaser of our favorite love songs, marking the start of a magical night. Shortly after, our special song, ‘My lucky star’, started playing. We danced our way through the crowd, smiling and exchanging loving glances, until we reached the dance floor. For our second entrance, we had prepared something special: a choreography with tango and salsa, which we had been working on with so much love and anticipation for months.»
