«Napoleon and I met in Chicago in September 2020 after an introduction from Napoleon’s father’s friend and my grandma. I left NYC to be with family in Chicago and Napoleon was living in Chicago after he received his master’s degree. Of course in the middle of the global pandemic, the most important thing to Greeks is that their grandchildren and children are married and this is all they talk about with their friends and family. So grandma comes to my home with a phone number and the name “Napoleon”. This was in the middle of the pandemic, before the vaccines came out, when everyone was stuck inside, but my sister decided to text Napoleon even though we had no idea who he was technically because there was no last name and eventually I found out about the text and agreed to meet for coffee. We decided to meet at a Starbucks for coffee because this was one of the only places that you could sit outside and still socialize. We stayed in Chicago for 6 months until I had to go back to NYC and Napoleon and I moved in together because it was obvious that the relationship was getting very serious. After dating for some time, Napoleon and I were celebrating the New Year in Vail Colorado on a ski trip. Napoleon proposed me very privately on New Years day.»

«For my wedding dress I wanted something that matched my philosophy and simplicity. I wanted something that reflected who I am. A dress that’s not ornate, but intricate. Not trendy, but modern. Not revealing, but alluring, the Scarlet gown felt like kismet when a friend recommended the NYC-based designer Danielle Frankel. The dress was the perfect embodiment of what I was looking for. The pleated silk wool column silhouette and corded lace felt modern and romantic. The gown was not the stereotypical bright, pure white and instead had a soft pearl hue. The detachable train caught the light beautifully. Its delicate lace and natural drape mirrored the effortless beauty of the landscape. I knew there was something that drew me to it- there was potentially a resonance with the Grecian simplicity of the Delphos gown. I had two other dresses that I had bought to change into. In the end, its delicate lace and natural drape made me feel both grounded and ethereal. I didn’t end up taking it off.»

My favorite reception decoration was the floral arch (lush, asymmetrical, frames the background and captures a scene in someone’s memory). There was a variety of flower types, roses, hydrangeas, pink blooms, yellow flowers and additional greenery. The arch had a natural, organic shape, with flowers cascading in a way that’s paradoxically not perfectly symmetrical, but it somehow was natural and looked wild and curated at the same time.

«For style and general philosophy I wanted to avoid overdone styles and instead achieve effortless beauty through: being authentic over trendy. Understated elegance and beauty can be acheived through simplicity, quality and being authentic (complement the natural beauty). I wanted to avoid overdone styles in favor of effortless beauty which also came out in the other details as well (wedding dress, etc). Sage green, warm terracotta, soft blush pink, creamy off-white, earthy peach, pale yellow (authentic to the landscape, avoided garish colors and the balance of eathy tones and soft pastels) . Perfectly complements the natural beauty of a Greek summer, something that I adore.»

«For my bridal bouquet I chose an extension of the environment (organic, elegant, perfectly in place but effortless). Ikebana style translates to using a few high-quality blooms in the above colors. They were arranged with intention to reflect the same ethos and style goals. The flower arrangement adds a layer of refined simplicity, ensuring the focus remains on us (the couple getting married) and that the guests truly Felt the novelty of experiencing a wedding in Greece, on the Athenian coast, in the middle of summer, with visuals that somehow seem to perfectly remain consistent whether they were at the ceremony and then at the reception. The focus was not on: over-the-top embellishments and being ‘extra’ – it was an overall sensory experience that they will remember.»

The advice I would give to a bride who is now planning her wedding is: It’s your day. Everyone will have an opinion, but in the end it’s yours and no one else’s. If you don’t know what you want, someone else is going to tell you what you want and will take that experience away from you.

«We finished taking our pictures, and were ready to walk out to the reception. The DJ started announcing us as newlyweds and we walked out of the doors to the back of the venue. We stepped out hand in hand, a wave of emotion hit me as I saw our guests—childhood friends, relatives, coworkers who’d become close friends, my extended and nuclear family. Everyone together, their faces created this mosaic of my life’s chapters. It felt surreal, as if I’d lived multiple lives in one lifetime, now converging in this single moment. People who’d never met, who’d never shared the same space were suddenly side by side, celebrating an important day of Napoleon’s and my life. Yet, in that same moment, I felt happy but also a sad. I started thinking of those who couldn’t be there and who were missing from this ‘picture’: my grandmother who couldn’t travel, my late grandfather who I spent nearly every summer in Greece with, dear friends who dreamed of coming to Greece with me since we were young. Overwhelmed, I felt like I was floating through a dream. Tears welled up as I ran to my sister, her baby in her arms, and broke down, sobbing. Everyone who’d ever impacted me had come together to support our new chapter. It was a unique moment of connection. It was one of those few times where it felt like time had stopped. It’s a memory that serves a reminder of what truly matters: the people who shape our lives.»

Guests left the wedding enchanted, but there was no consistency in what people told me after about precisely what it was about the wedding. And it’s most likely because of this paradox. They saw the final result, a wedding that looks like it came together effortlessly, with colors, flowers and styles that feel perfect for the moment. But no one could see the layers of expertise, editing and intention that went into it. The complexity is hidden in plain sight.»

Be still our Santorini-loving hearts: this summer wedding of Stephanie and Daniel has us completely blown away by the prettiness of it all! With the deep blue Aegean as the backdrop, the ceremony space was transformed by Paper Flowers Cyprus into a vision of white and cream beauty, with a lush floral arch overflowing with roses and baby’s breath, perfectly capturing Stephanie’s wish: «I wanted our wedding to look as dreamy as possible, I envisioned florals, fairy lights and dancing at sunset, I wanted the wow factor! We hired Paper Flowers for our decoration, I asked for a big full arch with white and cream tones, broken up with baby breath, I wanted the arch to not look too perfect, I asked for an almost ‘messy look’… Our welcome sign/seating plan was by Illuminography, I had designed it myself and the company created it to perfection, they also provided our ‘Mr & Mrs Martin’ large letters, this was perfect on the dance floor.» Rows of white chairs lined with petite floral clusters framed the aisle, leading to the breathtaking arch and the glittering sea beyond. Every detail felt fresh, airy and filled with joy, from the white and creme palette to the gorgeous decoration details, making this celebration a perfect mix of romance and coastal charm!

«Our eyes met whilst standing on a crowded train platform, I remember glancing over at him and thinking, Oh, wow, he’s cute. I cheekily messaged one of my best friends to tell her I had spotted the man I was going to marry, never in a million years did I think this would become true. As it turns out, we were both enroute to the airport to catch the same flight to the same part of Ibiza. We hit it off, he offered to share his Nando’s cake he had in his bag with me and I knew he was the one. We ended up spending most of the holiday together, the rest is history. 10 years later on New Years Eve we were on a beach in Mexico at Sunset, Daniel asked to take a photo of me, I turned around to him down on one knee asking me to marry him! After 10 years together this was a huge shock, yes was the answer, I was over the moon!»

«When planning our wedding I knew I wanted to get married with the view of the ocean behind us, Santorini was the perfect destination for this, Le Ciel caught my eye on instagram, the reviews were faultless so we booked! I wanted our wedding to look as dreamy as possible, I envisioned florals, fairy lights and dancing at sunset, I wanted the wow factor! We hired Paper Flowers for our decoration, I asked for a big full arch with white and cream tones, broken up with baby breath, I wanted the arch to not look too perfect, I asked for an almost ‘messy look’. We had gold based centrepieces with messy florals on top to match the arch we had, we had the same style placed on the piano, this would be playing whilst guests arrived and for when we walked down the aisle. The chairs lining the aisle also had a small bunch of matching flowers on, again in the same tones and look. With our top table I was very specific, I wanted the florals to be full and spilling softly over the front and sides of the table to tie in with the the guests tables and arch. We added in vases on the top table and in front of our welcome sign, these lit up beautifully after the sunset.»

The most thing I enjoyed, was walking down the aisle and seeing how everything had come together, to marry in such a beautiful setting with the dreamiest decoration was a dream come true, I will never get over the day.

«Our welcome sign/seating plan was by Illuminography, I had designed it myself and the company created it to perfection, they also provided our ‘Mr & Mrs Martin’ large letters, this was perfect on the dance floor. We opted for fairy lights spiralling over the dinner room, then a raindrop style over the dance floor and fairy light curtains between each room, this was stunning and really set the ambience. For my bridal bouquet I had classic and elegant long stemmed roses (from Shades of flowers) these went perfectly with my theme, my bridal party also had the same but mine was slightly bigger. Our table set up was in gold and ivory, I did not want everything too white as wanted everything to look a bit warmer with darker neutral tones, I had bought ivory silk napkins to match perfectly with our hand made menus (eventfully more), that each had an Ivory ribbon on, this fitted perfectly with the florals and the gold charger plates and cutlery. When I got to the venue ready to walk the aisle. I peered through a window and was blown away with how the decoration looked, I wanted the wow factor and I really felt this was it, my guests said they walked up to the venue with the piano playing and they were all in tears at how beautiful everything looked.»

My Dress was by Morilee, Lizzle gown, it has a sultry fit and flare with a crystal beaded embroidered bodice with illusion sides and a sexy keyhole back in fitted crepe. I love how it accentuate my curves and the beautiful lace train just finished off the look. For my second dress I wore the ‘Charlotte’ satin bow mini dress by Six Stories, this dress had been sold old for months and I managed to grab it when it came back in stock just 3 days before we were due to fly to Santorini. This was the perfect dress to do our first dance in and then party the night away.»

«Our love story has had its twists and turns. We first dated for three years before life led us down different paths – and a seven-year separation followed. But as fate would have it, we eventually found our way back to each other, proving that some connections are simply meant to be (even if one of us may have been a little stubborn!). «My wedding dress was by Enzoani, and the moment I tried it on, I just knew it was the one. I had visited five different bridal shops and must have tried on close to 100 dresses, but nothing had felt quite right until that moment. The dress was everything I had been searching for: fitted in all the right places, full of sparkle to catch the beautiful Grecian sun, and finished with the most stunning long train. It felt glamorous and timeless, and wearing it on the day honestly felt like a dream. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect dress for me.»

My biggest piece of advice would be: don’t get too caught up in the tiny details – focus on how you want the day to feel. Things won’t always go exactly to plan, and that’s okay.

«For example, our fireworks were cancelled the day before the wedding due to high winds. It was not the best news to receive, especially since it was one of the few things my husband had really been looking forward to. But we smiled, got on with it, and you know what? It didn’t matter in the end. Fireworks or not, we still had the most incredible day. Also – trust your vendors, share your vision, and then let them do what they do best. And most importantly, take a few quiet moments to soak everything in – as cliche as it sounds – the day really does go by in a flash.»

«It’s hard to pick just one favourite moment, but having our closest friends and family there to celebrate with us truly meant the most. That feeling of being surrounded by love is something we’ll never forget. One standout moment, though, was our entrance into the reception with the Zafeh drums by Black and White Drums. It brought such a good energy to the evening – especially since it was a totally new experience for my Irish friends and family! A special shoutout to our incredible venue and their amazing staff – they were on the ball from start to finish. Whether it was stepping in to help a guest who fainted (before anyone else even noticed!) or gracefully letting us dance the night away right up until closing time, they were beyond attentive and kind. We also have to give credit to the caterers – the food was top notch. I was a little nervous since we didn’t do a tasting (we planned everything from abroad), but it turned out to be one of the highlights of the evening. Our guests raved about it and we couldn’t have been happier. Five stars all around!

«I first met my husband Dominic 15 years ago at a recording studio where he worked. He was the sound engineer on one of my very first projects. Little did I know back then that he’d not only become my go-to recording engineer for years to come, but also my life partner. One of the most emotional parts of the day was our sand ceremony. It was a powerful visual moment symbolising the blending of two families into one and it brought so many of our guests to tears. As for the reception, our dances were the highlight! From the father-daughter dance to our first dance as husband and wife, we poured so much time and love into every step. You could tell how much it meant to us and honestly… we absolutely smashed it!

«We met in 2014, I was working as a waitress at a Mexican restaurant and he came in for a meal with 2 of his friends. I was also working with Jess who was knew Aaron. Aaron asked Jess who I was and Jess immediately offered my number out with out asking! I spent the rest of the shift bright red and embarrassed, trying to hide, but Jess made me serve the table to make her even more embarrassed. We messaged back and forth for a few weeks and went for our first date! It took 8 long months for Aaron to finally ask neto be his girlfriend on New Year’s Eve.»

«Aaron proposed in July 2022, we were due to go on holiday to Italy for 2 weeks and Aaron did plan to propose here, but knew that I had suspicions as we had had conversations about what rings I liked – in the January so I was patiently waiting! In his defence we had renovated a house! So before we went Aaron suggested a day out to Chatsworth, one of my favourite places, for a picnic with the dog. It’s was a gorgeous sunny. Aaron packed the picnic, and hid the ring in Tupperware. Aaron set up near a gorgeous water feature – there was only a few people there, in a lace that’s normally packed which was just perfect! Aaron asked me to stand up and take a picture with the view, I stood up and turned around and he was behind me on one knee, it was honestly perfect and such a surprise on the day! I spend so much of my childhood at Chatsworth with my family and cousins and Aaron knows it’s a place which is filled with memories for me, after he proposed he told me he chose here as he wanted to start making our own memories here! Balled my eyes out!»

«We had a rule to try and stay together, we agreed a 20 minute rule, if you were without the other person for 20 minutes go and find them, we wanted to have a day of memories being together and it’s so easy with all your loved ones to get caught up talking. It worked so well!»

«Our ceremony was my favourite, it felt like a fairy tale, the view around us was amazing and so open. We had a beautiful arch of flowers for the ceremony which we loved. We had Hadrow for music in the ceremony and cocktail hour, he played the guitar and sang and was really amazing! We walked down the aisle to better half of me by Tom Walker being played on the guitar.»

«We really wanted timeless decor and flowers for our wedding in Cyprus. I knew I wanted mostly greenery and white with some subtle peaches and oranges. Our venue Liopetro gave us some suggestions for flowers and we contacted a few. One of them stood out to us, I sent them pictures for inspiration as in all honesty I am not great with flower names, and they just said – leave it with them. And I am so glad we did, the flowers were gorgeous, they were so fresh and bright and they just added the perfect subtle colour pop.»

«Generally for the wedding decor we wanted quite a clean and timeless look, less was more for us. We wanted simple table decorations so guests could chat. We sat in the middle of our guests, mixed in, as we wanted a really social setting where we could talk and enjoy ourselves with our favourite people. This was actually one of my favourite parts, as we really felt loved and lucky surrounded by everyone.»

The gorgeous setting of Liopetro also doesn’t need loads of decor as its views and plants and gorgeous building – creates also a beautiful environment already which is why we chose it.

«We also opted for an ice cream cart, and rather than cutting the cake, we opted for a 1st scoop which was perfect and just the best in the 38 degree heat! Our guests loved this too!»

I loved our second dance, the pressure of our 1st dance was over. We have a little boy who was 5 months old at the time, he joined us for a dance and it was a real special moment, I’ve had a picture of this as my wall paper since. Our friends and family were dancing round us and the three of us were just so content in that moment.

Nicole and Noah were destined to meet, fall in love, and build a life together. Their story reads like a modern fairytale — and it all began with a breathtaking proposal: «Noah proposed at sunset, in the middle of a sunflower field. It was incredibly romantic! The sun was dipping below the horizon, and we were surrounded by the most beautiful sunflowers. He got down on one knee and, of course, I said yes!» Nicole shared with us. To celebrate their love, the couple chose a dreamy destination wedding in Santorini. Oh! My Wedding planned every detail beautifully, transforming the ceremony into a scene straight out of a romance novel: white and blush roses, ivory accents, lisianthus, astilbe, and eucalyptus came together in perfect harmony. Simply stunning!

«We met through the dating app, Tinder, while we were both attending university. It was a modern romance that began with a swipe to the right, sparking an instant connection. From our first date, at a local cafe, we were all in for one another. Noah proposed at sunset in a sunflower field. It was super romantic! The sun was setting, and we were surrounded by all these beautiful sunflowers. He got down on one knee, and I, of course, said yes! We enjoyed a nice fire and a celebratory drink with a couple of friends afterward.»

It has a corset-like structure with a crisscross fabric detail that adds texture and visual interest. This dress is inspired by the romance and ethereal essence of the fairytale world.»

My advise to other future brides is to invest in a photographer and videographer whose style you truly love is so worth it. Those photos and videos become the lasting memories of your special day, and having ones you adore will bring you joy for years to come. I know I’ve cherished mine, and my family still raves about them!

Our reception took place on a terrace looking out to the volcano and Aegean Sea at sunset. We ate dinner under a gold canopy accompanied by dazzling, dangling fairly flights. A long floral runner with greens, white and pinks ran across the table and onto the floor with glass-encased candles following alongside it.

«Our wedding in Santorini was a soft pink, minimalist yet elegant aesthetic with slight gold accents. Getting married on the caldera of Santorini with the beautiful blue sea as our backdrop, we knew the soft pinks and greens would be a subtle, yet beautiful contrast. The bridesmaids wore soft pink dresses and carried matching bouquets with pink and white flowers mixed with gorgeous greenery. At our ceremony, our harpist played our chosen song, her pink dress matching perfectly with the bridesmaids. We had flower arrangements on our white linen canopy that matched the bouquets of the bride and bridesmaid, accompanied by beautiful white lanterns.»

«Our Loki, was made into a miniature figurine and was placed on the cake to add a personal touch. During the couple’s first dance, the bride’s grandmother surprised them with pyro sparklers that lit up the terrace and wowed their wedding guests.»

«I ended up finding Casa Bianca Bridal Boutique where they specialized in providing a customized experience. I found a dress by La Premiere it had the perfect lace detailing and was a figure flattering mermaid style wedding dress. There was no underlay when I tried on the dress so I got to pick that out, I chose a nude color so the lace would standout, and then I wanted a matching a sleeve to go with the bridal dress. The store owner at Casa Bianca bridal worked directly with me and the designer to create this sleeve and it was absolutely perfect. Having something one of kind was so special and really fun to create! »

«We both moved to Denver, Colorado, I was originally from North Carolina, and he was originally from Chicago Illinois. He caught my eye at the gym and one day we were both walking back from the gym to our apartments and realized we lived directly across the hall from each other! «The reception was held in the same spot as the ceremony, we were lucky to have such an amazing crew turn over the venue so quickly! We had one long table for the dinner reception with candles and white roses set in the middle atop a long natural gauzy table runner for an organic boho look. We really wanted it to feel like a big family dinner. My favorite part was the large free standing crystal chandeliers that hung over the table. This made the wedding dinner table look classy and glamorous but was also the perfect amount of lighting for a sunset dinner.»

We used white velvet chairs on a rose gold frame for the ceremony that carried over to the reception dinner table. We bought in a big white arch to get married in front of that perfectly framed the caldera, white roses sat in a bunch of baby breaths at the bottom of each post. It was simple but so elegant. With the beautiful view of the caldera we really didn’t need much to decorate.»

At the all-white chapel of Saint Dionysios at the Island Resort Athens Riviera, adorned with vibrant fuchsia bougainvillea, Thalia and Yiannis sealed their love with a destination wedding inspired by the charm of the Greek islands. Planned all the way from Canada, this celebration was a testament to the couple’s dedication and vision. Their wedding planner, Vassiliki Creations, brought that vision to life in every detail. As the bride shared with us: «Our wedding planner truly understood our dream of transporting our guests to a Greek island—without ever leaving the Athenian Riviera. We wanted a very “Greek” theme, but with a luxurious twist that would lift everyone’s spirits.»The reception was a romantic scene, decorated with fragrant floral arrangements in soft pink and white tones—baby pink roses, vivid bougainvillea and pure white peonies. Modern white dinnerware with blue patterns and golden accents awaited the guests, who were treated to exceptional culinary creations by Dipnosofistirion Catering. This beautiful couple’s wedding was filled with exquisite details that delighted both the newlyweds and their loved ones!

«We met through a mutual friend during the pandemic and started off in a long-distance relationship. After a year of living apart, we moved in together. The proposal happened next to the windmills in Skyros (where Yiannis is from), and he had invited my family to join in the celebrations.»

«I had been following the greek site Love4Weddings when we decided to get married in Greece, so we could get a better idea of vendors and venues.»

«We really wanted to highlight the setting we chose for our wedding: the Island Gallery. Both of us have family roots on Greek islands, so we wanted to make the space feel authentically like a Greek island and reflect the colors that are typically found there. When we first visited the venue, the two things that impressed us most were the large fuchsia bougainvilleas and the church of Saint Dionysios. It was an easy decision to incorporate the fuchsia color into the wedding decor to complement the setting. We didn’t want to overdecorate the church, since we found it striking on its own, but we chose the fuchsia palette to bring out its simple beauty. The blue and white plates we selected for the decor, along with the wedding favors placed on the tables, were intentionally chosen to echo the sea that formed our backdrop. Our talented invitation designer helped define the theme when we decided to carry the look consistently from the invitations to all the printed materials on the wedding day.»

Vassiliki Creations understood our vision to transport our guests to a Greek island—without them needing to leave the Athenian Riviera. We wanted to embrace a very ‘Greek’ theme, but with a luxurious touch that would elevate the atmosphere. The bridal bouquet was unique, with peonies, roses and hypericum, while being kept smaller in size so it wouldn’t overshadow the wedding dress.

«After many tries and several visits to bridal boutiques, I found my wedding dress in Vancouver, Canada. Ines Di Santo is a wonderful designer based in Canada, and I was lucky to find my dress when it happened to be in her Vancouver store for a trunk show over the weekend. When I first saw it, it looked a bit more ‘cocktail’ compared to other dresses I had tried, which had very long trains. But the moment I tried it on, I knew it was the dress. The store, Bisou, was amazing and helped me pair it with a custom-made veil and a bridal wrap that I wore for the ceremony. I felt completely comfortable throughout the night and like I had two different ‘looks.’ It was really important to me to be able to enjoy my wedding dress and be able to dance in it!»
