Choosing beautiful Crete as the destination for their wedding turned out to be the perfect decision for Lunashia and Stefan. This deeply-in-love couple exchanged vows of eternal love and shared unforgettable moments with their closest people, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Even though their journey from South Africa to Greece was planned entirely online, everything came together seamlessly thanks to the team at Stepsis. Their wedding had a romantic flair, with bold shades of fuchsia and blue setting the tone throughout the celebration. As Lunashia shared, «We chose blue tones to represent Greece for the decor with pink flower accents such as bougainvillea to honour the picturesque landscape of Crete. Now whenever we see fuschia bougainvilleas we are instantly reminded of our wedding day.» The breathtaking floral arrangements by En Kipo, featuring pink hydrangeas, roses, bougainvillea, and eucalyptus, beautifully transformed the setting. From the intimate, family-style reception table to the two-tier wedding cake, every detail felt thoughtful and full of love. Enjoy each and every moment from this special day!

«Stefan proposed me on a rooftop in Johannesburg, South Africa at sunset. It was a very intimate and personal setup, with special touches like including my favourite champagne. With both of us coming from very family oriented cultures, I absolutely loved that he asked for permission and blessings from my parents before proposing me.»

«With us travelling from South Africa and guests travelling to Crete from all over the world, we wanted to have an authentic Greek experience. With the help of the amazing team at Stepsis.Gr they secured the perfect location and captured all our requests perfectly. Stefan and I had never been to Greece and planned this wedding completely virtually from South Africa, the Stepsis team really made everything so simple for us. With our wedding originally planned for September 2020, we had to postpone (a few times) but when we finally had our wedding in September 2023 it was absolutely worth the wait. We chose blue tones to represent Greece for the decor with pink flower accents such as bougainvillea to honour the picturesque landscape of Crete. Now whenever we see fuschia bougainvilleas we are instantly reminded of our wedding day. Roses and hydrangeas and bougainvilleas were all favourites of the bride.»

«My wedding dress was a simple A-line dress with a lace bodice. I wanted something that was simplistic but still carried the dreamy look of the wedding. Definitely something from a fairy tale.»

«The ceremony decorations were very minimalistic, as we wanted it to be completely authentic. Kalandare village offered the most special backdrop with sweeping bougainvilleas and traditional architecture. Irini our photographer managed to capture the location perfectly, we wanted our ceremony to be as natural as possible.»

«Our favorite moment from our wedding is definitely a difficult choice but walking down the aisle. It was a culmination of a moment we were both waiting for.»

The advice I would give to a bride who is now planning her wedding is the best thing for any bride is to have a wedding planner who understands your vision. I had a clear idea of what I wanted and our wedding planner was super supportive and offered helpful tips.

«The ideas for the tablescape was long joined tables to represent family style gatherings. We wanted to remain true to our family culture and we found Greek culture to be very similar. There were a few special touches that were carefully considered: Candles and a sign in memory of those we lost. Each guest was given a little bag of Greek Oregano (both the bride and groom are foodies) with a Greek evil eye keyring. For place settings, each guest had personalized cocktail stirrer with their names on to be used with signature cocktails. Even the kids were given special plates with their own favours.»

«We worked according to a schedule which made things a lot more manageable and efficient. The choice of wedding planner is also very important. During the times of uncertainty, our wedding planner is as very supportive and reassuring and kept me calm even from a distance. On the day, I was given a running order of events and everything ran like clock work. Even if it didn’t, I was not aware of it, which allowed me to be super calm and really enjoy the day.»

«We had so many highlights, our dream wedding cake which was so beautiful with fresh bougainvilleas, traditional Cretan dancers who taught our guests a few dance moves, our amazing DJ who managed to capture our music preferences to perfection and also the incredible Greek food feast, with our dream ice cart. It is far too difficult to choose, but if we could relive this day, we wouldn’t do anything differently, it was absolutely perfect.»
