«We met through a mutual friend during the summer of 2021 and it was pretty instantaneous from the day we met! We started talking from the next day and we have been together ever since! The proposal was a big surprise to me! We love to travel and we had planned a trip to Italy at the end of October and beginning of November of 2022. Our trip was to Venice and he is very into planning each day and he was asking me “Ok, want to do on the trip, Wednesday is supposed to have good weather so I think we should do the gondola that day” So we ended up doing the gondola ride then. He kept asking andwonder how much longer we had for the ride and then I realise that we were about a minute or two away from the parking for the gondola where we had originally started and I was like “oh it looks like we’re finishing up we’re approaching the port already, and I’m assuming that he thought that he would have more time and he reached into his bag to get something and he pulled out a ring. I was honestly like, what is that?! In complete shock and then he asked me if I wanted to grow old with him, and I said Yes! I had no idea that was his plan all along and that pretty much all our friends and family already knew his plan for months!! It was very sweet and romantic.»

«For my wedding photographer, I had Irini Koronaki. As a makeup artist that specializes in weddings, I have worked with her since I moved to Crete seven years ago and she is just a beautiful, bubbly and extremely talented and sweet person. I knew who I wanted for my wedding photographer even before being proposed to! »

«So about my wedding dress! I had some ideas of having a dress made for me and I did end up going to a couple of dressmakers and I just couldn’t find the fabric within their reach that would create the look that I wanted and so a friend of mine saw the shop and there were dresses on the rack that were all handmade by the owner. So we went in, and I took a look at the back of this dress and the sequin detailing of it, and I fell in love! I had gone to multiple shops here in Crete and I even went to a couple of shops in Athens to find a dress and I ended up finding it in a shop in Chania by dressmaker named Michael Ioannidis. He had made the dress, the sequins were hand sewn and it was just dreamy to me. There were just a few adjustments I had wanted to make and he did the alterations for me and it was just for me the perfect dress! It was somewhat of a mermaid style with lots of semi matte sequins creating this beautiful floral like pattern. I was obsessed, I am still obsessed!»

I followed the greek wedding site of Love4Weddings. As a woman I think that looking at weddings blogs for inspo happens even before we find our partners! Honestly though, there are just such beautiful weddings and the blogs give off a vibe and tells you a story through the images and decore, the dress the hair and makeup. Its somewhere where we can find our vision has come alive and it can be a great starting point to planning your dream wedding and finding the best vendors to make it happen!

«My advice to brides planning their wedding would be to make sure to find their wedding vendors as soon as possible. I feel like a lot of people don’t realize how busy the vendors are and even a year in advance of planning sometimes you can miss out on your favorite vendors so if you find somebody that has the aesthetic and the vibe that you’re looking for ,reach out to them immediately and make sure you book them right away if you just know that they’re right fit for you because they will be booked up if you wait too long. I know this in more depth as well because I am a bridal makeup artist and I have had a lot of brides reach out too late and unfortunately couldn’t book them for their wedding. Another thing is to make sure that you have good communication with the people that you’re booking and get good vibes from them because you don’t want somebody to ruin your big day with their bad energy, nobody needs that. Go with your gut and what feels right for you with everything. Your dress, your venue, your wedding planners, your glam team all of it. At the end of the day, everybody is celebrating you and your wedding should reflect who you are individually and as a couple.»

«The wedding decoration was very minimal and the vibe was a little bit boho chic! There were some wicker accents, but also gold and brass accents for the sweets table. The flowers on the tables were different types of pampas grass and in just neutral tones and clear and tinted vases. My bridal bouquet was made out of flowers and it was a gift from my beautiful friend Sara, who does flower arrangements for weddings and events as a hobby in Chicago. A couple of my other friends Bridget and Jennifer also helped with some of the flower arrangements for decorating our car and they used beautiful dried flowers and grasses. Our dessert table was something I put a lot of thought in detail into especially when I was explaining to the pastry chef on the colours and the types of treats I wanted for everyone those turned out absolutely beautifully and my favourite part of that (even though I sadly didn’t get to eat any) where the mini doughnuts!»

«My favorite moment was out on the dancefloor! We didn’t stop dancing and I took a moment to just look at everyone there and take it all in. I had family from the USA and all over Greece and it was so special to all be together and dancing and having the time of our lives!»
