Ashleigh and James had always dreamed of getting married on the beautiful island of Crete—a place that stole the groom’s heart from the very first time he visited the greek island. «The warmth and hospitality of the Cretan people left a lasting impression on James. We both wanted to incorporate these elements into our wedding celebration and decided that Crete would be the perfect place for our destination wedding!» the bride shared, glowing in her stunning bridal makeup and hairstyle by Michalis Tsotras. Their wedding was flawlessly planned and styled by NM Events, who brought to life a dreamy setting filled with all-white flowers, lush greenery, and rustic chic touches. The couple arrived at the ceremony to the elegant sounds of One Cello N a Half, setting the tone for an incredibly romantic day. Everything about their wedding felt like a fairytale, and we can’t wait to share these unforgettable moments with you!

«James and I met at a bar in Fitzroy, Melbourne. From the moment we started talking, there was an undeniable spark between us and we bonded over our shared passion for travel. Our subsequent dates deepened our connection, filled with countless moments of laughter, and we quickly became best friends. Five years later, we were on a breathtaking summer vacation in Canada, exploring Yoho National Park. After a challenging hike to the summit, we were surrounded by vibrant wildflowers, melting glaciers, and cascading waterfalls. In that awe-inspiring setting, James dropped to one knee and proposed. It was a magical moment we’ll never forget!»

«Some other favorite moments were: the grooms party arrived in style, cruising through town in a vintage Plymouth Cabrio 1953 with the siren blaring and my bridesmaids followed behind in a car. The sound drew locals out of their homes to wave and cheer, creating a heartwarming and unforgettable journey to our wedding venue, Agreco Farm. Our first look on the beach. James stood at the far end of the shore, and as I walked towards him, the anticipation grew. When he turned around, we both teared up and embraced, sharing a peaceful moment by the ocean that calmed our nerves before the ceremony.»

«For my wedding I chose a bridal bouquet of white roses, lisianthus, chrysanthemums and eucalyptus. We embraced a romantic rustic style with a strong Greek element, featuring lush greenery and white flowers. The ceremony aisle was adorned with white flowers and eucalyptus, leading to an arched church door beautifully decorated with more white blooms and greenery. At the reception, wooden tables were draped with garlands of white flowers and greenery, complemented by elegant evil eye and boutonniere wedding favours on plates. The most beautiful detail was the fairy lights overhead and wrapped around the olive trees, creating a magical atmosphere as the sun set. The combination of white flowers and twinkling lights made for a fairy-tale setting that perfectly blended romance and rustic charm.»

«I hired a wedding planner (NM Events) to help me with my wedding planning as I live in Australia and our wedding was in Greece. Before we got engaged James had traveled to Crete and fell in love with the island’s rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, and delicious cuisine.»

«My wedding planner helped me with most of the vendors like the venue: Agreco Farm, DJ, bands, photographer, flowers and videographer but I arranged the car (Vintage Plymouth Cabrio 1953) and One Cello ‘N’ a Half who played during the pre-welcome drinks, walk down the aisle and after the ceremony before dinner.»

«I dragged my poor mum and bridesmaids through more wedding dress stores than I care to admit! But when I slipped into the Zavana Couture dress, I instantly fell for the mermaid silhouette that hugged every curve, the intricate beaded lace, and the stunning backless detail. What sealed the deal for me was how comfortable it felt—I knew I could dance the night away without any worries. On our sunny wedding day, the sequin wave detail on the wedding dress shimmered beautifully in the sunlight.»

«The advice I would give to a bride who is now planning her wedding is to focus on what truly matters to her and her partner. Embrace the planning process together and don’t stress over the small stuff. Enjoy every moment of your wedding day, don’t let things that go not according to plan upset you because it goes by in a flash! Trust your instincts, surround yourself with supportive people, and remember to share a quiet moment with your partner on the day to soak it all in together.»

There were so many favorite moments of my wedding but the two most memorable were Agreco Farm coming alive with a professional Cretan band and dancers who put on a spectacular show. They had all our family and friends up and dancing, filling the night with joyful Greek music and spirited moves that kept everyone on their feet with plenty of dancing and laughter!

«As we cut our wedding cake fireworks lit up the night sky. The vibrant colours and lights created a stunning backdrop, making the moment even more extraordinary and memorable!»
