«19 years ago I went on holiday to Kos with two friends. There I met Thomas who worked there. We fell in love and traveled back and forth between our countries for several years, until we decided to stay in the Netherlands. Now 19 years have passed, we now have 2 beautiful sons, aged 13 and 9, and together we have our baby products company (Petit Filippe). In the summer of 2023, after many years, we went on holiday back to Kos, where Thomas asked me to marry him on the same terrace where we met all those years ago! He asked his former boss if he could serve us some cocktails like he used to do, and when he served mine, he suddenly took out a small box and got down on his knees to ask me to marry him. The terrace was full of people, and everyone applauded and shouted congratulations. I never expected this to happen after all those years, and also our kids were in shock!»

It’s difficult for us to pick just one favorite moment. Our wedding celebrations lasted 3 days. We had guests from The Netherlands and from Greece. The most enjoyable of our wedding for us was the fact that all dutch and greek guests mixed so well together, they had fun together, danced, talked and laughed together. Our wedding was a mix of two cultures and it was so special! Everybody stayed in the same hotel (Grand Resort Lagonissi) and from the breakfast in the morning until the end of the night we had fun!

«I had a lace bridal dress from Pronovias in mermaid model. I ordered my bridal dress in January 2024 and when I came back to the boutique in June for the first fitting, I did not like the dress anymore! Finally we changed the whole dress, until it was my dream dress! It had long sleeves, we cutted them off, the neckline was different too. Thank god the seamstress was very experienced and she helped me until my bridal dress was exactly how i liked it to be.»

«The theme of the wedding was timeless classical, in black and white. We had white flowers at the wedding ceremony and black and white flowers at the reception area. The wedding decoration I enjoyed the most were the lush flower garland around the chapel’s door, the disco balls combined with the big candeliers above the dance floor and the long dinner tables with white linen, black ribbons, a small bottle of olive oil for everyone and beautiful black chairs. I made all graphics in the same style from our save the date cards, until our wedding website and menu’s, it was all in one style. At the wedding it all came together which was great to see (I’m a designer so for me these things are very important).»
