«We had known each other since school. He is five years older than me, so when he graduated I was still just a kid. Back then he was the “cool” guy, the school crush, and he already had a girlfriend. If you had told me then that one day I would marry him, I would have thought it impossible. When I turned 18, I moved to Magdeburg for my studies, which happened to be the university city where he had once studied too. He had just returned from there but still had some ties to the city. He saw on Instagram that I was studying in Magdeburg and sent me a message, and that is how we reconnected.»

«He had been planning the proposal for a long time and it was very important to him to ask me at the Empire State Building in New York. That city holds deep meaning for him, it was his dream to show me New York and maybe even live there someday. So proposing to me there was something truly special for him. Unfortunately, in 2021, because of covid our trip was canceled literally at the airport. Instead, we went spontaneously to Mallorca, which turned out to be wonderful too. When we came back, a friend of his asked him in front of me if he had already proposed, and she said yes, which was funny because he actually hadn’t asked me yet. But since we often talked about marriage, I kind of knew something was coming. A year later, when we finally made it to New York, he waited patiently and proposed at the Empire State Building. It was such a huge surprise, with so much emotion and adrenaline, that I honestly didn’t see it coming in that moment, even though deep down I always knew he would ask me one day.»

«When I tried on my wedding dress for the first time, I didn’t expect to get emotional, but I instantly burst into tears. It was a feeling so hard to describe: the moment the zipper went up, I knew it was the one. A funny tip for other brides: don’t rely on photos when trying on wedding gowns. I only let my friends take pictures and later that night, when I looked at them, I panicked. The lighting was terrible, the angles unflattering, and the dress hadn’t been tailored to me yet. I ended up crying again, this time from disappointment. The next day I went back to try it on and thankfully I felt the same magic all over again. That was the moment I knew without a doubt it was my dress. It was strapless, something I thought I didn’t want, with soft ruffle details, fitted at the bodice and flowing into a dramatic skirt with a long train. Somehow, the dress and I just belonged together.»

On the first day, we had a pre-wedding event that felt so warm and special, something we love to remember. Since our wedding ceremony took place later in the afternoon, we spent the day relaxing by the pool of the beautiful hotel our planner had found for us in Thessaloniki. She did an incredible job with the flower decorations and we were very happy with the arch and table decorations.»

«On September 18, 2020, we met at Marquita’s auntie birthday party in Atlanta. Marquita eventually noticed me as I was bent over tying my shoe. Her initial thought was, “who is that, and where is she headed?”, since I was dressed up to go out to a nightclub. Little did I know that this moment would mark the beginning of an unforgettable evening, as we and our friends ventured out to continue the celebration. We couldn’t take our eyes off of each other and the rest is history. Fast forward to July 15, 2023, we were in Miami with two of her cousins celebrating one’s birthday and we are all getting ready to board a yacht for no sleep weekend’s all white yacht party. Little did I know, Marquita had made plans with her two cousins to propose to me on the yacht. We had a section and unlimited drinks and we were having a great time. She got the DJ and a photographer involved with the proposal. I was really surprised when he got down on one knee to propose me in front of everyone. It was the most beautiful moment and everyone was celebrating with us. It’s definitely a day I’ll never forget.»

Our favorite moment from the wedding, the one we will cherish forever, was right before dinner even started. All our friends had already filled the dance floor, dancing with incredible energy, and suddenly Konstantinos and I found ourselves lifted high up in their hands, laughing and living the moment to its fullest. Maria and Kyriakos deeply in love, planned their big day exactly as they had dreamed. «Aesthetic Soiree was our choice, and they did an amazing job.
