We are bringing you a destination wedding in Chania that feels like a true celebration of spring, with details that perfectly captured the couple’s joyful spirit. Alexandra and Christian chose the breathtaking Sea View by En Kipo as their venue, where the stunning setting overlooking the water provided the ideal backdrop for their day. Guests were welcomed with vibrant floral design by En Kipo, filled with seasonal colors that brightened every corner of the celebration. Adding a fun twist to tradition, instead of flower girls, the couple had “margarita men” walking down the aisle, handing out refreshing margaritas to guests on what turned out to be a very warm day, a detail that brought lots of smiles and set the tone for the festivities. The bride looked radiant with makeup by Michalis Tsotras, while every element of the day came together seamlessly thanks to the thoughtful planning of NMevents. «NMevents helped us with every aspect of the wedding (as well as the pre wedding day dinner and the post wedding beach club day) and thank goodness as I am not a very creative person! They were amazing and really helped me figure out what I wanted and took the stress out of not being in Greece whilst planning a wedding taking place in Greece», the bride shared with us. «We met nearly 16 years ago at a house party. It wasn’t until 2 years later of Christian being persistent that I agreed to go out with him and now here we are! Christian proposed me in Rovaniemi in Finland. He surprised me with a holiday the morning we were flying and had booked a week off work for me by getting in touch with my boss without me knowing. We did a husky ride and then saw the northern lights. The evening we went to the top of a mountain where an outdoor fire and a small shelter where a chef was making us some food. Within 5 minutes if getting there he proposed as he said he was so nervous and wanted to enjoy the rest of the evening. It was an amazing trip!»

«I love that Christian cried as I walked down the aisle. I didn’t think he would, so this was a surprise! I also loved that instead of flower girls we had “margarita men” who walked down the aisle giving out margaritas to guests – this was very fun and it was a very hot day, so it was appreciated! We loved all the food and cocktails by Fivestar catering. Christian and I are huge foodies, so we needed to make sure there was amazing food and drink. We love an aperol spritz, so had to incorporate those and Christian grew up in Athens for a few years and his favourite dish was Pastichio, so we had to incorporate that into our menu and it was amazing. We also had a 360° camera and a photo booth whoch were both hits! Everyone enjoyed them and having those extra memories has been great!»

«My wedding dress was from a German designer. My dress was an A line dress and bigger than I initially thought I would go for but when i tried it on, I knew it was the one. It was so romantic, flowy and had flower appliqués all over it which I fell in love with. It had a semi sheer corset-like bodice with a sweetheart neckline and off the shoulder small sleeves… I also had a long veil which matched and also had the flower appliqués around the edge. I lived having the veil, I wasn’t too sure to begin with but I’m so happy I chose to have it as I think it looks so good in photos and I felt more like a bride.»

My favorite moment from my wedding is right at the end of the night the DJ played a final song which Christian had requested and everyone was on the dance floor shouting this song in one big group together. When the song stopped everyone carried on singing for another 5 minutes and it was so fun and just a moment of everyone being together before the night finished.

Don’t stress too much about all the tiny details if they don’t mean a lot to you or if you feel that you “have to” to do something. It’s your day, so do what you want and what will make it the best day for you. «Vasilis is from Athens and I am from Thessaloniki. We met during our master’s studies in The Hague, Netherlands, and we have been together for almost eight years now, living permanently in Germany. The proposal happened in New York, right under the Brooklyn Bridge with the Manhattan skyline in the background. After he proposed, Vasilis told me that he had originally planned to do it the following day in another spot in the city, but when he saw how excited I was with the view and how happy I had been that day, he simply thought this is the right moment.»

«I think my favorite part of the wedding was our vows. It was right after the ceremony and just before entering the reception area, when we had a moment to ourselves on the balcony at sunset. We know it is not very common in Greek weddings, and in foreign weddings couples usually say their vows in front of all the guests, but we wanted something more personal, just between us. It was so touching to hear a love confession and dreams for the future from the person you love, especially after so many years together. I would truly recommend it to more couples!»

«As for the wedding decoration, I always knew I wanted big white roses and not too much greenery. My bridal bouquet was made only of white Ecuador roses, the church decoration included just two tall flower stands with white roses and baby’s breath, and at the tables we placed small vases with white roses and candles. In one of the venue’s pathways we added large candelabras with candles that created such a beautiful atmosphere in the evening. Overall, we didn’t want to overload the space because it already had this lovely minimal island-inspired aesthetic. It really didn’t need much more, and both of us love minimal design.»

«My advice to any bride planning her wedding is to involve the groom in the preparations as much as possible. It is his day too, and I think they actually want to take part even just a little. We divided quite a few things between us: I handled most of the aesthetic choices while he took care of the more practical aspects. It really helps so that the stress and pressure are not one-sided.»

«For my wedding dress, following again that minimal aesthetic, I knew I didn’t want lace, tulle, glitter or anything like that. Of course I tried them on for fun during the search and it was really fun, but deep down I knew I wanted something clean. The one I chose was from Brautblüte, a very well-known bridal experience store in Germany, close to our home in Cologne. It was the Milla Nova, Lancaster. My only criteria were to feel comfortable and to love what I saw in the mirror. I would recommend not overthinking this choice too much because it can become overwhelming as a decision.»

«We first met when we were just 13 years old and spent a few years together as teenagers. Life then took us in different directions. Paul went off to work abroad while I stayed in the UK and focused on building my career in hairdressing. Years later, fate stepped in again when Paul reached out while on holiday in Cyprus and the rest is history. We’ve been together ever since — through moves, careers, babies and building a life together. I spent many of those years (not so subtly!) hoping Paul would propose me. We moved into a flat in London, welcomed our first son and then during the pandemic had our second. That’s when we decided to move to Hertfordshire and build our dream home from scratch. We’ve now welcomed our daughter and, 25 years since we first met, we finally got to plan the wedding of our dreams.»

«Our wedding style was completely personal to me. I planned every detail myself and everything had to match! My favourite colour is brown, so I worked from that as a base, using gorgeous shades of mocha, peach, pinks and soft whites throughout the day. Finding the perfect flowers was so important. I wanted a rose as close to mocha as possible and while most of the flowers were high-quality faux (which helped achieve the full floral look I imagined), my bridal bouquet and the table flowers were real, beautiful single roses in vases that matched my bouquet exactly.»

«The ceremony backdrop was framed with dramatic floral towers in our colour palette, and I loved how the flowers popped against the lush green and soft sandy aisle. The confetti was a mix of brown, pink, white, and peach petals, every detail was considered. «I actually had two wedding dresses, because why not? It’s a once-in-a-lifetime moment and I wanted to reflect both the romance of the wedding ceremony and the fun of the party after. My main dress was a stunning ivory gown covered in delicate beading, with a long, elegant train and an extremely long veil that flowed beautifully in the sea breeze. It felt so timeless and special, even more so because my son helped me pick it out! I paired it with brown shoes (of course!) to stay true to my favourite color and the theme of the day. Then, for the evening, I had a second dress made, a custom version of a designer bridal mini dress, but with my own twist: it was in rich brown satin. I thought it would look so cute in brown and I was right, it was everything I wanted and more! The hem was shaped like roses, which perfectly matched the mocha tones of my bridal bouquet. I completed the look with matching brown Prada ballerina pumps, the perfect outfit to dance the night away in comfort and style. Both dresses felt like such a reflection of me, one elegant and romantic, the other playful and bold. I loved getting to show both sides on such a special day.»

«There were so many unforgettable moments, but one that stands out the most has to be our “first dance”, which wasn’t traditional at all! In the lead-up to the wedding, we secretly got together with a few of our closest friends and hired a dance teacher. We decided to surprise everyone with a choreographed group dance, not just the two of us, but involving our kids and all our friends’ children too. We spent months practicing a routine inspired by the Netflix series The Perfect Couple. We started the dance with just us and our kids and then our friends joined in part-way through — the energy was amazing! It was such a joyful, light-hearted moment and meant so much to us. We felt so humbled that our friends and their little ones would take the time to learn and perform this with us. Everyone absolutely loved it and it brought such fun and laughter to the night and was such a reflection of who we are as a couple and family. Of course, finally saying “I do” after 25 years together and having all of our loved ones there with us was another incredibly emotional highlight. But that dance? That was pure magic.»

The advice I would give to a bride who is now planning her weddings is to trust your vision and stay true to what feels right for you. It’s so easy to get caught up in trends or feel pressure to do things a certain way, but your day should be a reflection of who you are as a couple, not what Instagram says a wedding “should” look like. I planned every detail of our wedding myself and while it was a lot of work, it was worth it because it felt completely us. Don’t be afraid to be hands-on, get creative and make bold choices, whether that’s your colour scheme, involving your kids in the first dance, or even having two dresses! Also, don’t sweat the small stuff. Things won’t always go perfectly, but they’ll still be perfect in their own way. Enjoy the process, savour the build-up and when the big day comes, soak in every moment. It goes by so fast, but the memories are forever. And finally involve the people who make you feel good, calm and supported. Their love and energy on the day makes all the difference.

«We met at a pub. Paul proposed on the beach in the Dominican Republic and honestly, it was a huge shock. My family was with us on the trip and only my dad knew about the proposal. «We met on my last working day, when I came to the restaurant to celebrate with my colleagues. As we later found out, my colleagues had invited him intentionally to introduce him to me. He is a classmate of my colleagues. When we first met, I didn’t pay attention much because I had recently broken up with my ex-boyfriend and wasn’t interested in a new relationship. I went home earlier and forgot about this meeting. In two days, I went on a business trip and it was Christmas. When I was in another country, he followed me on Instagram and wrote to me that he wished to meet with me for dinner if I were not in a relationship. I told him to write to me in a week cause I was busy (and not interested actually). For me, it was like ‘maybe he would understand that this is no’. But he wrote to me exactly in a week and I decided to give him a chance. We met on the 30th of December in a restaurant, had a very good conversation and dinner. After I came home, I felt something. The next day, I wrote to him to find out how he was. So this is how our story began.»

«I ordered my main dress online. I never visited offline shops to try on any dresses. I chose the style online, I contacted the shop, I measured myself and ordered the dress. Fortunately, the size was perfect. The dress is ‘princess-style’ with embroidery and wide sleeves that start from the middle of the arm. My second dress I also ordered online, and it was a short and very light dress that is perfect after the main one.»

I wanted the arch to be very voluminous, the chairs to be wooden, the tables to be white, and the bouquet to be a little dishevelled. This is it. The decorators offered few variants and I chose what I liked more and they made it perfectly. For the details, I used Printerest to understand what people have at their weddings. So the decorations were: arch, flowers near the chairs at the ceremony, praesidium, flowers on the tables, candles, gifts for the guests, menu, seating plan, bouquet, fabric on the ceiling.»
